Aiming to ensure transparency and safety, the Medical Device Regulation (MDR) mandates medical device manufacturers, wholesalers, importers, hospitals and health care institutions to collect and share product data with EudaMed.

The MDR complex regulation requires medical devices to have a Unique Device Identification (UDI) to become traceable to alert of counterfeit products and manage recalls more efficiently.
